NUCLEI COLLECTION

Nuclei can be collected from Herefordshire.

From our own apiaries and selected breeders in England & Wales, the AMM Black British Bees are as close to the native British origins as we can get them. The queens (included as part of the nucleus) are usually overwintered, there are young bees, hatching brood and adequate food. Frames of comb are not more than two years old.

Our nuclei are supplied in a non-returnable correx box, or a returnable polynuc travelling box (very useful around the apiary) and are on six frames providing a balance of bees of all ages, newly laid eggs, sealed brood and honey stores for food.

UP-CYCLED & ASSEMBLED

Our full hive is a Thorne’s hive which has been up-cycled and assembled by our local carpenter. It will have five frames providing a balance of bees of all ages, newly laid eggs, sealed brood and honey stores for food, plus an additional set of wax filled frames to fill the brood box. Queen excluder, crown board and strap are provided. A ready to go hive, you just need to site it in your apiary!

AVAILABILITY: APRIL TO JUNE

Typically available in late April to June, subject to the weather conditions during the spring. Full hives are available throughout the year.
