OUR JOURNEY

Hello! Thank you for taking the time to visit us, we (and the bees) appreciate your support.

The love for our happy bees began when we bought 3 hives of AMM British Black Bees from a local beekeeper. We created the Horseshoe Apiary on the edge of the lake, surrounded by beautiful woodland, and open countryside. A local beekeeper retired, so we added their 11 hives to the family, and an array of amazing equipment. 

BOOSTING BEE POPULATION

The plan was to boost the bee population, encourage the pollination of our orchard, wild flowers, local crops and pick your own farm. We wanted to generate local honey for our family and friends, as we believe it has amazing health benefits, as does the beeswax which features in our cosmetic range.

With food shortages on the horizon, intensified agricultural methods, ageing beekeepers, the list went on and the need for boosting the number of bees became more and more evident. 

COLONIES & BEEHIVE ADOPTION

Loving a deal, and the buzz of winning, we invested in queen rearing equipment to raise our own AMM British Queen Bees.

This provides us with the ability to make our own colonies which we can either sell to you, or allow businesses to sponsor a hive of bees, or individuals the opportunity to adopt a hive.

BEES FOR LIFE – GET INVOLVED!

Not everyone has the time, space or inclination to keep bees; however everyone I meet knows how important they are, even those who are petrified of them!

So we wanted to create a way for people to get involved and help boost the bee population. Our bees only go to homes where people have experience, or take up the initial training module. I have seen some sad situations, so I only sell responsibly.

A bee is for life too, even though there may be 60,000 in your hive!

HEALTH BENEFITS

Thinking about the health benefits, and understanding how homeopathy works, we decided to take some hives up to the mountain behind the family home in Wales, as it is covered with beautiful heather, wild bilberry and gorse.

OUR LANDSCAPE CAPTURED IN EACH JAR OF HONEY

Bees will fly circa 3 miles around the hive, so the orchards and rural landscape is captured in each jar of honey. The natural wax is made by the bees, and can be found in our lip balms, and array of wax products. If you’d like something special formulated, please do ask. We use the best essential oils, organic sustainably sourced products, and hand make everything with love. The products are made for our family and friends, and you are also able to buy these, and become our friends too!
